CMS Sections Explanation

Overview

The Content menu in CMS presents the page grid as seen below.  This is where you create and organize the order of your pages in the site.  The order of the pages or redirects you create here generate the different menus on your site.  Learn more about how to create and manage menus for your site.

Add New Page

Select a page in the grid, then click the Add New button.  The new page will be added as a child of the page you selected.

Organizing Pages

To move a page, click on the page you want to move.  Then drag that page to the desired location.  A red line will be displayed under the target page that will either be on the left or right side depending on the position of your mouse.  If you move towards the left and the left red line shows up, your page will be moved under the page.  If you move your mouse to the right until you see the red line to the right, your page will be placed as a child of the page.

Search

Simple Search

In the simple search field, you can search for pages in the grid.  The fields of data that will be searched are menu name, menu header, and page ID.  The results page will show you each page that matches your criteria.  You can double click on the row to open the page, or click the Jump icon to highlight that page in the page grid.

Advanced Search

Click the advanced search link to expand the advanced search options.

Edit

To open a page for editing, you can either double click on the row, right click the row and select Edit, or click the Edit icon

Remove

To remove a page, you can click the red x in the Remove column or you can right click the row and select Remove this Page.  When a page is removed it is moved to trash, and the url is modified to include the date/time and word trash in the url.

Trash

The last row in the grid is grey and has a trash can icon. If you expend this section you will see all the pages that have been deleted.  To restore a page, drag it from the trash to the upper pages above.

Note:  If the page you are restoring has the same url as an already exising page, you will be presented with a warning dialog and the page will be restored with the same url it had in the trash.  Be sure to fix the url in this case to a new one.

Interface Features

Rows

The rows link allows you to expand and contract all the pages in the grid
