Amazon Marketplace

Before You Sign-up with Amazon

Amazon will charge you the monthly subscription fee as soon as your application is approved, so it's good to do some homework beforehand.

  • Make sure you have inventory specified for all the items that you wish to sell on Amazon. If your site's inventory is going to be different than the inventory you'd like to send to Amazon, a custom field can be created for this purpose.
  • Decide on the order fulfillment time e.g. "ships in 1 day" - the shipping can be controlled through your Amazon account for all products. A shipping template also needs to be pushed in the feed. No shipping details are pushed in the feed by default.
  • Define the "item_type" for your products in the admin. See here for inventory file template
  • Enter the "Standard Product ID" for your products in the admin - A standard, unique identifier for a product, consisting of a type (ISBN, UPC, EAN, ASIN or GTIN) and a value that conforms to the appropriate format for the type specified. Example: EAN 1234567890123 or ASIN XYZ123
  • For items that you do not want to include on Amazon, check the option: "Exclude from Feeds"
  • Every product must have a picture

This is not everything. Depending on what type of products you sell, you may need to create a custom configuration so that your products land in the correct categories within Amazon.

See the template that matches your product category for more: https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?ie=UTF8&nodeId=200186090#templates_tables

Pushing Feeds

Once your application has been approved and the customizations for your products have been done. You can start pushing your products to Amazon.

Resaving the Amazon integration settings will push your products to Amazon and schedule the next automatic push based on the frequency settings you have set.

The Status section of the Amazon Feed Settings shows you the last upload attempt and the last completed upload - a date and time here means that the upload was accepted by Amazon.

If you do not see your products on Amazon despite a successful upload on our end, please get in touch with your rep at Amazon to give you more information on the causes.  Get in touch with us if they need you to make any changes to the feed.
